Join us Nov. 15 for a free DevOps talk organized by Monetate and featuring speakers from both Monetate and Etsy.
Jeff Horwitz, Monetate’s lead systems engineer, and John Allspaw, vice president of technical operations at Etsy, will each speak about their organization’s approach to DevOps.
The event will be held at First Round Capital’s new University City headquarters from 6 to 8:30 p.m. Food will be provided, and you’re welcome to join us for drinks afterward at a to-be-determined place nearby.
DevOps is an approach to software engineering that attempts to bridge the gap between development and operations … or at least, to address some of the problems that occur when developers and systems administrators aren’t working in close collaboration.
Horwitz and Allspaw will talk about not only the technical side of DevOps — for instance, which tools make a DevOps approach possible, and how to do it right — but also the ways in which engineers can foster a culture that is conducive to collaboration.
